As we usher in 2024, here’s a look back on the product development front and what we’ve released in 2023 alottttttt actually!

2023 has been incredibly exciting and we will continue to iterate well, not least because of the very valuable feedback from you, our cherished intermediary users – so huge shout out and thank you!

I need help in building a stronger digital presence

‘I have no idea how best to build my website. Working with 3rd party vendors is stressful because I do not have technical knowledge. Using website builders like wix is also a little daunting for me…’

We have heard this feedback countless times and we were hard at work to build a feature where our intermediary users can build and launch their own personal website in minutes, regardless of tech-savviness.

This pain point has also been validated in surveys we have conducted. In one of such surveys, over 25% of insurance intermediaries surveyed indicated that getting leads via digital marketing as their top pain point.

Feature: Personal Website Builder


Insurance intermediaries can leverage the Personal Website Builder feature to build and launch their personal websites within minutes! 

The website will allow intermediaries to showcase their professional profile, achievements and most importantly, the insurance products that they distribute.

Clients can now access this website and create insurance proposals or make purchases directly as well.

I want a way to collect leads more efficiently

‘Having a website is one thing, being able to collect leads and then seamlessly turning their requests into insurance proposals is another.’ 

As part of the release along with the above mentioned Personal Website Builder, intermediary users can now seamlessly collect leads via their website launched from the Personal Website Builder and turn them into insurance proposals.

More product integrations with Insurers

Feedback: I love the instant quote marketplace and would love to see more products from more insurers

This has always been our top priority and we are constantly on the lookout for suitable insurers and products to bring to our intermediary users. 

Not only that, we work hard to ensure all of Surer’s capabilities are fully integrated with these insurers such that users can work seamlessly across multiple product deals. 

New Products with Etiqa: Maid, Car and Motorcycle 

We had announced the successful integration of our platform with Etiqa Insurance Singapore’s Motor and Maid insurance products in June and December ’23 respectively.

All our users will now have a fully digital process to obtain quotes instantly and present them to clients along with a straight-through payment process for Etiqa’s Maid, Car and Motorcycle!

New Products with DirectAsia: Car insurance

The integration of our platform with DirectAsia’s meant a marriage of Surer’s technology with DirectAsia’s highly customisable car insurance product.

Our intermediary users can digitally work on highly customisable car insurance policies to serve their customers, the end policyholder, with greater flexibility. The partnership also extends many of Surer’s core capabilities and features to be applicable to DirectAsia Car Insurance product.

New Product with Zurich: Marine Cargo (Single Shipment)

We had integrated our platform with Zurich Singapore’s fully digital proposition, Zurich Swift Marine Cargo, allowing brokers and intermediaries an easier and quicker way to manage their Marine Cargo insurance business.

This integration allows our users to seamlessly and easily manage their clients’ marine cargo requirements. Operators can now obtain quotes instantly; bind covers and issue certificates or policies directly via the Surer platform.

Auto population of proposal information from existing documents

Feedback: Our customers usually share required information for a proposal by sending us past documents like previous car insurance policy schedule or IPA for their MDWs. Instead of re-typing them out in the proposal form, can we just upload it the documents and have an auto extraction functionality?

Feature: Document information extractor

The below screenshots show the examples of a nifty widget we have implemented for all our Motor and Maid insurance products.

Intermediaries can now upload

  • Motor products: upload the previous policy schedule and information including chassis number, engine number etc will be automatically extracted
  • Maid products: upload the MDW’s IPA and information like SB transmission number, EP number etc. will be automatically extracted

More security when we share quotes with clients

‘I have been sharing quotes with customers via Surer – however, i think my client would be more assured if there was an added layer of security where only they can access the quote.’ 

Security has always been top of mind for the team here at Surer. We took this feedback onboard and added password access to all quotes that are being shared with clients.

Feature: Password access to view quote

As per the image above, all clients who have received a quote via Sure will now be required to key in a password to view the quote.

We have gone one step further to enhance our security in general by obtaining the CSA Cyber Essentials mark as well! 

Feature to help TSAs (Trade-Specific Agencies) with Bulk Transactions

Feedback: I am a TSA and I handle large volumes daily. We need a way to bulk process our deals.

Surer now has the ability to power the bulk distribution of insurance products for TSAs (Trade Specific Agencies). The first demonstration of this can be seen through the partnership between Surer, a TSA – Majestic Fast Ferry (a ferry operator licensed to sell ferry insurance for their voyagers) and insurer – Etiqa. 

Majestic Fast Ferry is now able to sell Etiqa’s Ferry Insurance product in greater volume as they are leveraging Surer to fully digitalise their insurance sale to policy disbursement process.

Client directory enhancement

Feedback: Easier way to track policies vis-a-vis client directory

No feedback is too small to work on.

A couple of users had shared that they wanted an easier way to access their client’s policies and suggested to be allowed to do so via the ‘Client Directory’. We felt this made total sense and implemented the feature as per the image above!

Mobile compatibility

Feedback: I now use Surer even when I am on the go. While most of the work requires my full attention via a laptop, there are certain features that I use on my mobile as well.

Surer was initially built to be ‘desktop-first’ given the ‘heavy-duty’ work to be done. There was always the intention to enhance this mobile compatibility as well.

However, we have monitored user behaviour and also received feedback like the above. As such, we brought plans forward and work on such development on an ongoing basis. 

As per images above, we are now fully mobile optimised!

Our promise to our users is that we will never stop improving and enhancing Surer.

There will always be room for improvement and we intend to keep chipping away…
